Throwback Thursday, Driver Informatio; Elliot Sadler

With over 750 starts in the top 3 NASCAR series, Elliot has 14 wins, 26 poles and, joining Jr. Motorsports for 2016 in the Xfinity series, he’s ready for more.  Dale Earnhardt Junior and Elliot have high expectations, even trying to run for the championship.

Born in Emporia Virginia, racing was in his blood.  His dad, Herman Sadler, and uncle Bud Elliot competed in short tracks around Virginia.

Elliot’s 1st year in NASCAR was short of spectacular for a rookie.  With a total of 4 pole positions in Whats now known as the Sprint Cup Series, and  3 wins in the now known Xfinity series. In his 2nd year in NASCAR, Sadler overcame a 38th starting position at Bristol to win a cup series win.

2004 was a great year for Elliot! He won the Pole position for the Daytona 500, won one of the twin dual 125 races, and the Daytona 500 itself! He got 1 more win that year, stayed inside the top 10 in points and  earned a spot in the inaugural Chase for the Sprint Cup. However the chase didnt go as planned and he finished 9th in the points for the year.

Elliot has moved from team to team with major owners such as Ray Evernham, Gillette Evernham with Petty Enterpises,  KHI (Kevin Harvick Incorporated),  and ended the year of 2012 in 2nd place in the Xfinity series when KHI joined with Richard Childress.

Still living in Emporia Virgina with his wife and children, he does the family thing, but also enjoys hunting and playing softball.  Breast Cancer Awareness and Autism Awareness are the focal point of The Hermie and Elliot Sadler Foundation.

Having been friends with co-owners of Jr. Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his sister Kelley, has all of them focused for a great 2016 year, and hope this is the year for Elliot in the Xfinity series.

Go Elliot!      Go Jr. Motorsports!   Get that championship!
